Service

The Campus Ministry staff organizes a variety of service opportunities. 

Service Requirements

For the class of 2017:

Students are required to complete 20 hours of service for every year of attendance, for a total of 80 hours by graduation. Graduation is contingent on fulfilling all academic, CWSP, retreat, and service requirements. Service hours may be completed outside of school. Please contact Aaron Bohr to inquire about service hour opportunities or to verify completed service hours outside of school. Students may also opt to fulfill revised requirements outlined below.

For the class of 2018 onward:

The service requirement for each school year is:

  • 9th Grade – 20 hours
  • 10th Grade – 20 hours
  • 11th Grade – a long-term or large-scale project within or outside the school, chosen by the student with guidance from the Campus Ministry Office; options include (but are NOT limited to): School Store Support, Student Council, Service Trip, Blood Drive Coordinator, Retreat Team, Service Club, PAWs, Orientation, Peer Tutor, mascot, or other ideas proposed by the student and approved by Campus Ministry.
  • 12th Grade – a long-term or large-scale project outside the school and chosen by the student with guidance from the Campus Ministry Office; options include (but are NOT limited to): hospital, nursing home, library, church, coaching, Learning Lab, Siempre Padres, Urban Stars, elementary school, or other ideas proposed by the student and approved by Campus Ministry.

**Hours/projects may be completed ahead of time and/or over the summer.

Service Trips

Campus Ministry offers one service trip per year.  Students are able to apply for these trips during their sophomore and junior years.  The cost for these trips varies based on our destination.   Past trips have included Harlan, Kentucky and Bogotá, Colombia.
