MINNEAPOLIS, MN (July 27, 2022) – Cristo Rey Jesuit High School – Twin Cities named Jacqueline (Jackie) M. Darrah as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. Darrah has been active with Cristo Rey for several years, served as a Cristo Rey Board member since July 2021, and is currently Senior Associate General Counsel with OptumInsight.
“I am humbled and honored to be asked to serve,” said Jackie. “Optum and my department have been a Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Partner (CWSP) for seven years. It’s through the day-to-day interaction with student workers that I’ve witnessed the power of the Corporate Work Study Program and the college preparatory experience Cristo Rey provides.”
Jackie is a senior attorney for OptumInsight, the health care technology division of UnitedHealth Group. Jackie graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and subsequently, a master’s degree in health care administration. Jackie obtained her law degree from Loyola School of Law in Chicago, and currently serves there as an adjunct professor.
Jackie has strongly advocated for the development of others through on-going commitment to mentoring and teaching colleagues, associates and students. She has provided various levels of board and volunteer support to the Near North Health System (Chicago), the Courage Center, the Fairview Ridges Women’s Giving Circle and Perspectives, Inc.
The Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) involves all students working one to two days per week bringing value to corporate partners through their work. The student work experience funds half their tuition gaining them relevant and meaningful skills. While working in entry-level positions, students acquire desirable job experience, leadership skills, and marketable skills to graduate high school with an impressive resume and exposure to a wide variety of careers.
