July 13, 2020

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School has received a generous gift from Investors Real Estate Trust
(IRET). The gift — the first investment from IRET in the school — was announced today by President Jeb Myers.

“We are honored and excited that IRET and its employees have chosen our school as an organization that they want to get more involved with and help make a special difference in the lives of our students,” Myers said.

IRET’s gift will help Cristo Rey Jesuit High School continue its mission to unlock the potential of students of any culture, faith, or creed to transform our communities.

“IRET strives to find meaningful ways to invest in the communities in which our team members live and work,” said John Kirchmann, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at IRET. “Our commitment to local giving allows us to maintain our focus of making an impact in the communities where we operate. Using the same principles that IRET was founded on in our giving allows us to invest long-term in the communities in which we operate.”

Since opening its doors in 2007, Cristo Rey Jesuit High School has been a proven solution to removing systemic barriers in the Twin Cities. Part of the nationwide Cristo Rey Network®, Cristo Rey the only high school in Minnesota that integrates a quality education, professional work experience through the Corporate Work Study Program, and support to and through college. 100% of graduates have been accepted to college and join the workforce as diverse, educated, informed employees.

Gifts to our school help transform the lives of some of the Twin Cities' most deserving young people. Cristo Rey Jesuit High School is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so gifts are 100% tax-deductible.
