Faculty Openings for the 2023-24 School Year

Substitute Teacher

Reports to: Principal
Beginning: Ongoing
FTE/Classification: per diem

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide teaching services and classroom coverage when full-time teachers are unable to.
• Execute the lesson plans prepared by the teacher in a way that ensures consistency and optimal learning, and that encourages students to participate.
• Communicate with lead teacher with updates regarding how classes went
• Assign classwork and homework as necessary, according to lesson plans
• Modify teaching styles to fit the learning styles of various students
• Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive learning environment
• Supervise students out of class such as in the hallways and in the cafeteria as assigned
• Create lesson plans, grade classwork, homework and tests and attend parent-teacher conferences (only for long-term sub assignments)

Requirements

(Preferred):
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong command of English language
• Above-average competency in at least two subject areas (such as math and social studies); overall average competency in most or all subjects
• Punctual and strong communication
• Ability to remember many names
• Flexible, friendly and good at establishing quick rapport with students
• Setting the proper tone from the beginning for classroom management

Dean of Academic Achievement

The Dean of Student Achievement will work with the Principal to ensure that all students demonstrate dramatic academic and personal growth by building and maintaining academic systems that cultivate a safe, joyous and achievement-oriented school culture. Deans promote the cognitive and non-cognitive growth and skill development of every student with the expectation that all students meet college and career readiness to graduate from Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.

Director of Finance

The Director of Finance/Controller plans, directs and carries out policies related to all phases of school operations and financial strategy and management, as well as oversees and provides day-to-day transactional support of accounting and finance functions. This individual is responsible for engaging with school management and personnel, and external service providers, on ongoing financial and operational matters including but not limited to: (a) financial management, budgeting, forecasting and reporting; (b) banking and investment management relationships; (c) contracts and insurance (in partnership with Director of Human Resources); and (d) other duties as assigned by the President or Board of Directors. The Finance Director has two direct reports, a Staff Accountant and an Accounting Clerk.

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School (CRJHS) is a private, Catholic, college-prep high school sponsored by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), serving students of diverse backgrounds from under-resourced families who live in the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area.

The mission of the Cristo Rey Jesuit High School-Twin Cities is to provide an education in the Jesuit tradition which integrates college preparatory academic and professional work environments thereby preparing students from under-resourced families for success in college and life. All students are required to complete a standards based promotion, literacy and numeracy first, college preparatory curriculum and participate in the Corporate Work Study Program whereby each student works five days per month in a corporate work assignment. Cristo Rey Jesuit High School – Twin Cities is a member of the Cristo Rey Network of 38 high schools around the United States that subscribe to similar demographic, academic, and internship program guidelines.
