Over 50% of Seniors Accepted to Four-year Universities
We were infected with the college acceptance on October 28, when representatives from St. Mary’s University in Winona came to our school for the day to interview and accept 13 seniors. Since then, seniors have been hard at work with college counselor, Ms. Micki O’Flynn, filling out applications and polishing essays.
The waiting game continues as some seniors have yet to hear from the schools to which they applied. Regardless, they continue to move forward. January 11 was senior financial aid night. Seniors and their parents began their online Federal Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). Forty-four community volunteers along with faculty and staff were on hand to assist families most of whom were completing the form for the first time. Correct FAFSA completion is vital in maximizing the amount of financial aid that many of our families will need to in order meet the goal of college graduation.

College of St. Benedict
