Transfers

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School accepts a limited number of 10th and 11th grade transfers to begin at the start of each school year. The process and requirements for admission for transfer students are much more demanding than for incoming 9th graders.

Applicants can experience a day as Puma of Cristo Rey Jesuit by:

  • attending assembly
  • participating in college-preparatory classes
  • eating lunch with their host and his/her friends.

 

Shadow visits occur during regularly scheduled schools days from 7:45 am - 1:30 pm.

Applicants should come appropriately dressed in a solid colored, collared shirt and dress pants. No hats, shorts or sandals. We also ask that visitors respect other elements of our dress code such as removing facial piercings and facial hair.

At the end of their visit, "Pumas for a day" will also be interviewed by a faculty or staff member, as a part of the application process.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Three letters of recommendation from the following areas:

  • Teacher Evaluation from current English teacher
  • Teacher Evaluation from current Math teacher
  • Community Leader Evaluation, completed by any principal, counselor, employer, volunteer supervisor, or pastor who knows the applicant well


TRANSFER STUDENT EXTRANCE EXAM
Only students who have met the above requirements will be able to take the exam. Students must meet credit requirements and demonstrate sufficient knowledge in core subjects through entrance exam in order to be accepted as a transfer student. The exam will take place the week of June 4, 2017.


FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION AND PAPERWORK
After receiving acceptance letter, families can apply for financial aid through www.tads.com or by scheduling an appointment with the Admissions Department.

Families will need the following documentation:

  • Copy of parents’ 2016 1040 tax return, 2016 W-2 forms and two 2017 paystubs
         -If you receive social assistance, please include copy of last statements
